Institute of Geography and Geology, University of Greifswald

This University began its collection in 1877. From that moment on, and especially in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the collection was increased. The geological heritage of this institution consists of twenty different collections, divided into three major domains, such as geology, mineralogy and palaeontology, the latter being the most extensive. In fact, the Institut für Geographie und Geologie stores 2.5 million objects and more than 1,000 holotypes. As for the sites of the lithographic limestones of Montsec, according to the literature, there is material from La Cabroa that corresponds to several holotypes of insects.
